The Bill Richards Memorial Regatta/Kitsap Invitational Summer Scrimmage (BRMR/KISS)
Sunday August 3rd, Port of Poulsbo Marina
In previous years, KRA and other local clubs have taken turns to host an annual regatta to honor KRA’s founder, Bill Richards. As an additional opportunity to bring together the local rowing community, KRA introduced the Kitsap Invitational Summer Scrimmage (KISS). For 2025 these events are being combined as BRMR/KISS, to be held on Sunday August 3rd from 6:30 am to 12:00 noon in the Port of Poulsbo. This “ham and egg” style rowing regatta, co-hosted by KRA and Bainbridge Island Rowing, involves four- and eight-person rowing shells and one-, two-, or four-person rowing sculls, from several West Sound rowing clubs (Bainbridge Island Rowing, Clam Island Rowing, Kitsap Rowing Association, Olympic Peninsula Rowing Association, Rat Island Rowing and Sculling Club, Sequim Bay Rowing and Paddling Association, Tuf’ as Nails).
BRMR/KISS is a USRowing Association (USRA) sanctioned event adhering to all rules of rowing and USRA/KRA safety procedures and has been approved by the US Coastguard.
